D-Way Travel - Ensuring Your Safety

• All of our passenger carrying vehicles are fully comprehensibly insured with Chapman Stevens as is our employers and public liability insurance.
• All D-Way Travel drivers hold full Licences for the type of vehicle being driven and they all have to undergo an assessment of driving skills and knowledge before being allowed to convey passengers in a D-Way Travel vehicle.
• All our vehicles are strictly no smoking zones and our drivers are strictly prohibited from smoking on the coach or whilst working in the presence of our customers.
• We do not fit remould tyres on any of the vehicles.
• All the coaches are cleaned and inspected for mechanical faults by our own staff daily prior to leaving the depot.
• All vehicles are fitted with approved seat belts.

When considering hiring your next coach, minibus or taxi please ensure that you book with someone who is operating legally, fully insured and licensed. You might think you are getting a bargain but do check that your transport provider complies with the necessary documents and insurance cover.
There are many people who are operating unlicensed, uninsured and illegally, especially with nine to sixteen seat vehicles. Would you let your children risk their lives by travelling in an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle?
To avoid this happening always ask the following questions as no genuine operator of passenger carrying vehicles will object to answering:

• What is your operator licence number?
• Are your vehicles licensed for hire and reward?
• Are your vehicles fully insured to carry passengers for hire and reward?
• Who are your insurers?
• Are all your drivers’ holders of a full licence to drive the vehicle for hire and reward?
• What categories are they driving under?
• Are you fully insured for public liability?
• How much are you covered for?
• Is the vehicle fitted with any remould tyres?

If you still use the operator ask to see the drivers licence and a copy of the insurance certificate. If you are not fully satisfied with the answers or if you suspect they are not operating legally you can contact the local Department of Transport Vehicle Inspectorate Examiner on 01603 408172 with the information who will then give you impartial advise and you can be assured your information will be treated in strict confidence.
